If you are like me, and many others, exercising is not exactly on the list of my ten most favorite things to do each day. Yes, there are other activities I enjoy much more. Although I understand exercise is very important, it still seems like a chore. The best way I found to lose my negative attitude is not to look upon walking poles exercise as exercise but an opportunity to get out of the house for a short time and see what is going on in my area. I don’t live far from a small mall, so sometimes I take my cane and check-out the shoppers.
Another bit of advice I would like to offer, in regards to walking poles exercise, is to begin at a reasonable pace. This is true with any exercise routine. Begin slowly, walking just a short distance, and increase slowly but surely. Approaching your routine in this manner will not only be easier on your body, but will prevent you from becoming “burned-out” and giving-up before you even get started. As long as you look upon these exercises as a normal part of your day and take your time getting started, you will find these exercises will have some great results.
